INCEIF provides Zakat financial assistance known as 'ISHRIF.' There are two distinct categories of applicants:
  1. INCEIF University students
  2. External Postgraduate (Master's) and Undergraduate (Bachelor's) Degree students.

No, this is not a scholarship. It is a one-time assistance designed to support eligible Asnaf students with their academic fees and education expenses.

ISHRIF is accessible to both Malaysian and international continuing students.

ISHRIF is accessible to Malaysian and international students who are classified as 'continuing students.' The term 'continuing student' specifically refers to eligible students, who are:
  1. Newly registered students who have completed the registration process and commenced their classes.
  2. Existing students from semester 2 onwards, including those in their final semesters.

All INCEIF students, regardless of their programme, are welcome to apply for ISHRIF. This support is specifically designed to provide assistance to Asnaf students for their tuition fees and educational expenses.

ISHRIF is available for application by non-INCEIF students pursuing Master's and Bachelor's degrees in specified programmes that are directly related to the Islamic Finance industry and its peripheral sectors. These specified programmes are:

  • Shariah

Yes, they are eligible. Malaysian students pursuing studies in the specified programmes above at recognised universities in Malaysia, the MENA region, Asia, Europe, or other countries are eligible to apply.

International students enrolled in Master's or Bachelor's degree at recognised higher education institutions in Malaysia within the specified programmes are eligible to apply for ISHRIF.

ISHRIF does not cover reimbursement requests for:
  1. expenses or fees which have already been paid,
  2. payments for upcoming semesters that have not been officially registered,
  3. requests made at the registration or admission stage,
  4. full fees for the entire programme.

The approved amount is determined based on the concept of "Had Kifayah" and various other factors. The ISHRIF Committee reviews applicants' backgrounds, including the number of dependents, the household income of the applicants’ or their family, the level of impediments, and the applicants’ study progress and status. The distribution is subject to fund availability.

The online portal acts as a centralised platform for applicants to track and monitor the status of their applications. The portal features a flow log, enabling applicants to check the submission status, track the progress of their application, access notices sent by the administrator regarding the submitted application, view information on the Committee’s decisions, and monitor payment progress.

Applications for ISHRIF are open every month, with a submission deadline on the 15th of each month at 3.00 PM (Malaysia time).
